Position Summary:


The SafetyDirect Technical Sales Account Manager for OEM/Dealers will have sales and account management responsibility for assigned OEM/Dealer networks across the United States.  The OEM/Dealer Technical Account Manager will be responsible for introducing, promoting, and meeting assigned sales growth targets at their assigned accounts. The OEM/Dealer Account Manager will meet with customers on a regular basis to demonstrate products, explain product features, present new program offerings, provide training and procure orders.  The OEM Dealer Account Manager will also consult with OEMs and Dealers to resolve problems, provide ongoing support, and answer questions about products, prices, availability, ordering, product uses, installation and troubleshooting, and is also responsible for issue tracking, development requests, truck roll-out/activation and retrofit activities for SafetyDirect customers acquired through the Dealer/OEM channel. Relationship building, both externally and internally, is a key element for this position.


Essential Functions:

  • Job scope will be to grow/maintain Bendix SafetyDirect product Sales within assigned OEM and Dealer Channels
  • Work closely with strategic dealers in an effort to drive sales and marketing
  • Grow relationships at all levels of assigned customer base
  • Provide Technical Support  and Product Training to OEM and Dealers
  • Update and maintain customer relationship management records daily.
  • Continuously maintain SafetyDirect management and coaching process at OEM/Dealers and provide support for Fleet Customers acquired through OEM and Dealer channel
  • Drive and Execute SafetyDirect sales and ensure on-boarding of new Fleets acquired through the OEM/Dealer channel
  • Monitor and report on wins/losses and competitive activities in the market.
  • Develop an OEM/Dealer customer strategy and customer plan together with SafetyDirect Sales Manager
  • Work closely with Bendix CoC organization to ensure customers’ needs/wants are addressed and actively participate in driving the product roadmap.
  • Provide Technical  support to Bendix CoC organization and Marketing to driver Incentive Programs and marketing material
  • Collaborate and work closely with Bendix field sales force within the region in an effort to secure new business opportunities 
  • Participate in Mid - Year Operating Plan (MOP) activities to develop sales plans
  • Conduct technology presentations as needed
  • Support needed regional and national industry events as required
  • Willing to travel 50-75% of time to assigned customer base



  • Knowledge of heavy truck industry that includes OE, OES, Dealer, Fleet, Aftermarket Distribution, Service and Training
  • Experience in selling of services, SaaS implementations and customer integration
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of telematics/data management, driver management processes and truck fleet operational policies
  • Proficient in web-based services and applications
  • Working knowledge of computer-based programs. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



  • 5+ years’ experience in data management and or/consultative selling/account management
  • 5+ years’ experience in heavy vehicle industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably BSEE, BSME or BSBA
  • Good written, presentation and verbal skills capable of discussions at all levels of the Bendix/Knorr and external customer organizations
  • SaaS and/or Telematics industry and Sales experience preferred



  • Self-starter who is used to working without direct supervision and capable of meeting identified sales targets and goals
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong technical acumen is essential
  • Ability to successfully orchestrate customer needs within the confines of the policies at Bendix
  • Team player that has experience working with competing requirements
  • Has demonstrated ability to build relationships within all levels of target operations



  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or Business with a strong technical background OR 7+ years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry, or related field, with proven successful track record. 


Position Requirements: 

  • Position will require 50-75% travel
