JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Supervises and/or performs all activities within the warehouse that involves material's shipments. Assists in the development of warehousing and/or distribution systems, procedures, and equipment lay-out for the most efficient and accurate processing of company products in accordance with pertinent customer shipping requirement.  Coordinates with the shipping Clerk to ensure all outbound shipments are shipped accurately & timely. Ensures packaging supply inventory is accurate.   Ensures all Shipping/Receiving employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs & that they comply with all company policies & regulations.   

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages and develops people in the department by providing short term objectives and long-term planning which combines the goals of the individuals, department, and business.
  • Supervises and/or performs all duties related to receiving, shipping and storage of stock (work in process, and finished goods).
  • Assures adherence to internal policy & procedure as well as customer shipping procedures and requirements.
  • Ensures that all employees within the Shipping areas meet the necessary training requirements.
  • Investigates shipping/receiving discrepancies/errors affecting customer or supplier satisfaction (this includes sister plants)
  • Knowledge of all operations equipment in the warehouse (including, but not limited to forklift trucks, swing reach truck, electric pallet truck, hand trucks, stretch wrap machines, radio frequency equipment, etc.)
  • Direct & regular continuous improvement in area efficiency, safety quality and employee development through the use of Key Performance Indicators and employee involvement to ensure business objectives are met at minimum cost and within budget guidelines.
  • Key participant in Lean manufacturing activities associated with shipping & receiving
  • Knows and communicates the need for product safety.
  • As well performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.

 

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Job is directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).  

 

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in inventory & warehouse management systems

 

 

 

Skills:

  • Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Skilled in the area of warehouse management 
  • Systems Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Experience with inventory accuracy concepts, SAP/R3 MMWM/SD experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills - 100% Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and mange own time efficiently

 

Education/Certifications:

  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
  • Education required / preferred:
    • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration or Engineering Degree
