JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary responsibility of this position is repairs, maintenance, and modifications to the site, building, and production supports systems (e.g. HVAC, electricity, compressed air, plumbing, etc.). To perform the tasks related to these responsibilities, Sheppard utilizes a mixture of contractors and in-house labor to maintain various liquid recycling systems, as well as waste reclaiming and storage systems. Typically, the Senior Industrial Waste Recycling Operator (Facility Technician) completes tasks of a higher degree of scope and/or complexity compared to the Industrial Waste Recycling Operator. The incumbent must be able to follow general machine shop practices while working under minimal supervision. Responsibilities cited below are considered essential job functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and modifications in safe, efficient, and high-quality manner with little or minimal disruption to operations
- Use the CMMS to receive work assignments, look up parts, materials, and tools in advance of the actual work.
- Use the CMMS to record readings, conditions found, time, date, and other triggers for maintenance activity
- Use the CMMS to document activity information, to capture labor information, and to close out the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to handle complex tasks to resolution
- One year of Industrial Waste Recycling Operator Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of Shop math.
- Problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in production/manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift from the floor, walk, reach frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed both daily and weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities as it relates to workflow.
WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise, and hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above.
