JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:                       

 

Provide world class technical leadership of changes implementation through the timely completion of product & manufacturing changes, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.  The Engineering Process Change Manager will lead all activities related to the current product and process modification, assuring full compliance to performance standards, procedures, engineering specifications, always aiming continuous improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of company products and services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Establish control of all product and process changes with daily review, including  actions, responsibilities etc.
  • Lead weekly meetings with multi-functional team members to monitor the progress of open tasks, assigning specifics tasks to these individuals.
  • Partner with Logistics Operations in effort to reduce the impact of obsolete parts in the plant inventory and related costs.
  • Drive team members to implement changes, according to the time chart, always prioritizing customer needs.
  • Manage escalations in partnership with plant leadership  in regard to cost and time of changes.
  • Partner with Product Engineering team to monitor the dates of new print releases and performance test results, when applicable.
  • Communicate expectations and actions taken to Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Quality, Logistics and other change management stakeholders, as needed.  
  • Create MCR’s in the system, when needed.
  • Support Product Safety Plant initiatives and Plant TS16949 certification.
  • Support PPAP Coordinator with details on changes impacting his/her workload.
  • Maintain Metrics, Reports and Databases as requested.
  • Maintain controlled engineering drawings & specifications in the production areas as requested.
  • Ensure the latest production print revisions are released on time to the production floor.
  •  Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System and accepted manufacturing practices.
  •  Ensure compliance with the plant policies and procedures including requirements for IATF-16949 and ISO14001.
  •  Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by the department manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

 

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Technical management or bachelor’s degree required. Engineering degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience in Program management duties and routines.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and reading blueprints.
  • TS-16949 Knowledge preferred.
  • New business knowledge.
  • SAP Knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility, automobile industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in motivating and leading people to achieve their goals, driving a

        positive work environment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with capacity to positively influence internal peers.
  • Experience working with tight schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at a time.
  • Good knowledge of APQP process.
  • Ability to capture lessons learned from previous launches and deployment of good practices to ensure   

        smooth launch during the change process.

  • Knowledge of PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Machining and/or Casting Processes experience is preferred.
  • Desirable PMP certification.
