JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
- Contribute to the elaboration of product specification & architecture, in collaboration with the Product architect
- Perform HW activities for product development:
- Define the hardware requirements specifications, by refining system requirements elaborated by the Product architect:
- Define or refine the functional, operational and interfaces requirements and the requirements linked to performance / Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety (RAMS) / environmental… constraints
- Ensure that all the requirements can be verified (testability, …)
- Define the hardware architecture, by refining product breakdown:
- Elaborate the functional and structural breakdown into HW components (boards, mechanics, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), …)
- Allocate the requirements to the HW components (including EMC & thermal constraints)
- Define the internal interfaces between the HW components
- Assess and verify the feasibility of the solution
- Define the HW interfaces for the SW
- Contributes with the industrialisation manager to the definition of the production test needs and strategy (bed of nails, functional, burnin…)
- Define main technical choices for HW development
- Defines the appropriate methods to apply and tools to use for the development.
- Arbitrate and validates major HW design choices for sub parts
- Defines and execute the Hardware architecture verifications by analysis and integration test
- Execute the HW Validation Manager activities if applicable
- Contribute and support the HW/SW integration and product V&V
- Define serial test requirements and support the industrialization teams for the industrialization of the product
- Define the hardware requirements specifications, by refining system requirements elaborated by the Product architect:
- Sustain the Hardware part of the product during the whole life cycle, including obsolescence analysis, manufacturing, and field return expertise
- Contribute to standardisation by reusing existing solutions or by defining reusable solutions, including COTS (Component Off the Shelf)
- Support the externalized development of “Component on Specification” through execution of document proofreading or design reviews.
- Apply and ensure application of processes and standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the metier by formalizing Return of Experience.
- Contributes to the improvement of the metier through technology survey
Knowledge:
- Actual vs planned number of development runs
- On-Time Delivery
- Number of non-detected issue at hardware level after validation
Experience:
- Experience in railways industry or in industry with similar requirements (aeronautics, automotive, military)
- Vital hardware development
Skills:
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Good written English communication skills
- Ability to work with other engineering teams
Education:
Master Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience of electronic product development for harsh environment (thermal/EMC …)
- Management of electronics development projects
