JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of the job:

  • Drive the execution of projects according to contractual requirements and customer expectations (summarized in contract charter), to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with KB Signaling (KBS) project management and execution processes.
  • Be accountable for project Quality Cost Delivery Planning (QCDP) and project Environment Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Ensure KBS legal and contractual rights are protected.
  • Seek and propose to the Project Director additional opportunities.

 

Main Responsibilities 

The Integrated Control Center (ICC) System includes 5 subsystems: SCADA, TWC, TMS (Office), TCFU (Wayside), and ATS (Onboard).

  • Be the lead interface onsite with the customer for all maintenance and service activities. 
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Project team to ensure the customer has a clear understanding of KBS activities.
  • Be accountable to deliver ICC QCD commitments.
  • Be the onsite technical interface with the customer for ICC Engineering
  • Contribute to the definition of the functional validation phase of the sub-system (Integration & Validation (I&V) and Factory Integration & Validation Plan)
  • Communicate with the customer and ensure ICC documentations are approved.
  • Manage SPR (system problem report) log with customer and KBS team to ensure coordination of development/support activities and document relevant technical data in the log for all teams to maintain alignment.
  • Support Subsystem Manager to ensure full transparency of ICC Engineering Work Package (WP) QCD performance (including physical progress)
  • If the ICC scope changes (due to either internal or external changes), support Project Manager in Project Engineering QCD commitment variations with the Project Controller
  • Support ICC Subsystem Manager in confirming TMS development scope with customer
  • Follow and participate in Risk and Savings Reviews for their scope. Provide inputs to Project Manager.

 

 

  • Be responsible for project governance. In collaboration with the PM, define project strategy in line with contract requirements, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to Sub-Systems (planning, cost, quality, performance)

 

  • Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders including:
  • Definition of Project objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract
  • Resources management:
    • Define in advance project core team staffing, as well as its WP resources
    • Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs
  • Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable Project Managers of internal and external partners:
    • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals.
    • Engage project teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them
    • Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary
  • Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management
  • Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during  project reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual

 

  • Manage customer and external stakeholders’ relationship
  • Continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements
  • KBS representative towards Customers and when applicable external stakeholders
  • Ensuring contract management and variation orders towards customer

 

Performance measurements:  

  • Project QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) and financial performance commitments
  • On-time-delivery for ICC deliverables according to project planning
  •  
  • Cooperation and reactivity to support to Root Cause Analysis Identification of contract variations (through traceability & coverage of requirements)
  • Customer Satisfaction 
  • EHS when applicable

 

Education:

Required: Bachelors Degree.

Desireable: Masters degree

 

Experience:

Mandatory: 

  • 5 years’ experience as: sub-system/component manager or maintenance manager or qualified project manager or manager of an operational scope
  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures

Desireable:

  •  Train Control and Train Management System (Office System)
