JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Site Facilities and Maintenance Manager

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and documentation associated with production equipment and facilities. Responsible for design and installation of various electrical and mechanical systems. Responsibilities will extend to Warrensburg, MO facility as needed.

  • Maintain, install, service and repair Manufacturing Assembly Equipment and assist in other production and facility support functions, including design and installation of electrical circuits, design and fabrication of production tooling and devices.
  • Responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and documentation associated with production equipment and facilities.
  • Responsibilities will extend to Warrensburg, MO facility as needed
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers, outside equipment vendors, management and peers 
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

 

Knowledge:

  • Ability to follow and revise ISO documents and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Ability to solve problems independently

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with machine shop and welding tools
  • 5+ years electrical experience

 

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Journeyman electrical license or a minimum 5 years electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions in relation to analysis, diagnosis, and repair of equipment problems
  • Proficiency in basic machine tool operation and machine maintenance or machine repair
  • Ability to interpret and apply mechanical and electrical schematic drawings
  • Familiarity with CNC machines
  • Experience with machine maintenance

 

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, squat, stretch, reach with hands and arms above the head, and climb ladders.
  • Must be capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to perform electrical repair and installations
  • Ability to use and willingness to learn machine shop tools and welding equipment.

The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in Grain Valley, MO is $33.65 to $37.50 per hour during training. After 90 days of employment the base compensation rate will increase 4%. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. KB Signaling is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 10 paid holidays, and 2 personal holidays throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics.
