Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to support our engineering team in the development and maintenance of safety-critical products for the railroad industry. This internship is ideal for students with foundational electrical engineering knowledge who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a regulated, high-reliability environment. The intern will work closely with experienced hardware and electrical engineers on projects that directly impact rail safety and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems used in railroad safety-critical applications.
- Support engineers in schematic reviews, PCB layout verification, and documentation aligned with industry safety standards.
- Perform basic electrical measurements and diagnostics using lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
- Help maintain lab organization.
- Participate in design reviews
- Document test procedures, results, and assist in preparing technical reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product safety, reliability, and maintainability.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and safety procedures.
- Interest in working with safety-critical systems and learning about regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with lab tools and basic CAD or simulation software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
