JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:As an IXL Application Design Engineer Intern, you will support the engineering team in the design and development of rail signaling applications. This internship offers hands-on experience with CAD tools, application logic conversion, and plan design, contributing directly to real-world projects. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and gain exposure to industry-standard processes and tools.
Key Responsibilities:Depending on current project needs, your tasks may include:
- CAD Updates: Perform minor revisions to existing plan sets using CAD software.
- CAD Quality Checks: Review and verify engineer markups against final CAD outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Logic Conversion: Translate VHLC logic into ELIXS logic using structured work instructions for VHLC replacement projects.
- Plan Design: Modify typical location plans to meet specific project requirements, contributing to basic book of plan development.
- Logic Development: Adapt standard logic sets for new locations, supporting basic application logic creation.
Qualifications:Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).Basic understanding of logic systems and control applications.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured instructions.Effective communication and teamwork skills.
