JOB DESCRIPTION:

Field Service Engineering Intern

 

Role Summary:

KB Signaling has an Internship opening for it’s Grain Valley Missouri location, located 30 minutes east of downtown Kansas City.  This position is focused on customer technical support within our Field Service Engineering (FSE) Team.  This role will include learning to interface with our proprietary railroading signal controller platform (ElectroLogIXS) along with documenting/simulating reported field issues with it in a lab environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Gain familiarity of interfacing with our signal controller platform, ElectroLogIXS.
  • Support signal training simulator lab development and assembly.
  • Lead the first pass efforts for training module development and capture lessons learned for improvements on the signal training simulation lab as the project progresses.

 

Qualifications:

Actively pursuing an Engineering or Engineering Technology degree and completed at least the first two semesters of recommended coursework. Candidates should have coursework or demonstrated interest in electrical systems, electronics, circuits, controls, or related technical disciplines.

 

Examples of applicable degree programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical Engineering (EE)
  • Electrical Engineering Technology (EET)
  • Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), with an emphasis in electrical, electronic, or control systems

 

Qualified candidates should be:

  • Familiarity with how to use a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM)
  • Able to perform DC circuit analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Professional and demonstrate a high level of maturity in both communications and working with others
  • Accountable in assignment completion
