INITIAL SITUATION

  • Capacitors are essential and therefore unavoidable components of modern electronic circuits. Due to the manifold requirements in the individual circuit parts (e.g. dielectric strength, temperature stability, capacitance, parasitic characteristics, ...) different technologies are used for this purpose.

  • However, some technologies have the circumstance that their lifetime is limited. In case these capacitors are used in electronic assemblies, which are designed for a lifetime of more than 20 years, this means a planned exchange of the capacitors and the associated additional expenditures.

 

TASKS

Within the scope of the work, the following main points are to be discussed:

  • Overview of the service life of various already established capacitor technologies.

  • Market research on new technologies

  • Assessment on the applicability as well as the presentation of the possible potentials when using new technologies

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Studies at a technical university or university of applied sciences
