JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supply chain execution to ensure customer delivery excellence, optimal inventory performance, and efficient material flow across manufacturing and distribution. This position establishes and executes supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.

The Supply Chain Manager will lead the functions of Production Planning, Inventory Management, and Material Flow while collaborating closely with Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the plant supply chain vision, strategy, goals, and objectives aligned with business priorities.
  • Lead annual reviews of organizational structure, talent development, and succession planning to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
  • Drive data-based decision making through KPI reviews, visual management, and performance management systems.

Supply Chain Operations

  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Lead and optimize planning processes including:
    • Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
    • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
    • Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)
    • Capacity Planning
    • Inventory Management
  • Drive inventory optimization while maintaining service level targets.
  • Support new product introductions, business growth initiatives, and supplier transitions.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks associated with suppliers, logistics, capacity constraints, geopolitical events, and material shortages.
  • Partner with purchasing and sourcing teams to develop alternate supplier strategies and business continuity plans.
  • Support cost reduction and productivity initiatives through supplier collaboration and value engineering.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives across supply chain functions.
  • Improve material flow, warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and planning effectiveness.
  • Eliminate waste, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain responsiveness.
  • Utilize digital tools and analytics to improve operational visibility.

Essential Functions

  • Influence cross-functional partners and manage expectations of leadership to meet SCE objectives.
  • Conduct frequent SCE-wide reviews to ensure appropriate actions are being taken
  • Manage areas of Production Planning of the Huntington facility OE, Remanufacturing, and Aftermarket Kitting businesses.
  • Responsible for SIOP and Inventory Management.
  • Drive and achieve plant performance goals and objectives including Delivery and Inventory, Backlog Performance.
  • Provide clear direction and priorities for department members including the establishment of individual goals and training plans through the Performance and Growth process.
  • Establish daily tools to drive accountability and informed decision-making to the appropriate level.
  • Create boundary-less materials organization to support Purchasing Team in supplier transitions and assure customer satisfaction through product distribution and manufacturing.
  • Posture people and systems to support new business growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with other Leadership team members in support of Safety, Quality, Operations, HR and Finance objectives.
  • Nourish cooperative, team-based environment.
  • Support inter-site cooperation to achieve BCVS goals and objectives.
  • Support Product Safety Management and execute activities defined in Quality Procedure Q-01-002

  • At least 10 years of Materials/Operations experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years Materials/Operations experience including 2 years in leadership capacity

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Greenbelt certified preferred
  • APICS certified preferred

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Huntington, IN is $70,200 – $105,300 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies.
