JOB DESCRIPTION:

The HR Business Partner/ Employee Relations Professional serves as the primary HR contact for approximately 350 hourly employees and front-line supervisors. This role provides hands-on support in employee relations, policy administration, performance management, attendance management, investigations, employee engagement, and talent processes. The HRBP partners closely with operations leaders to maintain a positive work environment, ensure compliance with company policies, and support business objectives through effective people practices.

 

The successful candidate is a highly visible HR presence on the production floor, capable of building trust with employees while coaching leaders to make sound employee-related decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Employee Relations

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee and supervisor inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.

• Conduct employee relations investigations involving attendance, conduct, harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and workplace conflicts.

• Document investigations, findings, and recommendations in accordance with company standards.

• Partner with leaders to address performance, conduct, and attendance issues using progressive discipline processes.

• Support conflict resolution and facilitate difficult employee conversations.

• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive issues.

Business Partnership

• Build strong relationships with supervisors and managers across assigned operations areas.

• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and policy interpretation.

• Participate in staffing discussions and labor planning initiatives.

• Support operational leaders in managing workforce challenges and improving employee engagement.

Performance & Talent Management

• Assist leaders with goal setting, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.

• Support talent review and succession planning processes for hourly populations.

• Partner with management to identify development and training opportunities.

• Monitor retention trends and recommend actions to improve employee experience.

Employee Engagement

• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication efforts.

• Analyze employee feedback and survey results to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Participate in employee meetings, town halls, and communications activities.

• Help foster a culture of accountability, respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Policy Administration

• Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices.• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

• Support documentation for corrective actions, investigations, leaves of absence, and accommodation requests.

• Participate in audits and HR compliance activities.

• Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data.

Staffing & Onboarding

• Support recruiting activities for hourly positions as needed.

• Participate in interviewing and selection processes.

• Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.

• Monitor onboarding effectiveness and retention of new employees.

HR Metrics & Reporting

• Track and analyze metrics including turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary actions, and employee relations cases.

• Identify trends and recommend corrective actions.

• Support preparation of reports and presentations for site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

• 2–3 years of progressive Human Resources experience.

 

 

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Bowling Green, KY is $65,100–$97,700 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
