Position Summary:
This position is primarily accountable for guiding the success for a specific aftermarket product portfolio defined by its revenue contribution, complexity, and strategic importance to the business unit. This position is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of existing products across all aftermarket sales channels (OES & IAM).
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for managing and implementing the product portfolio aftermarket strategy including ideation, development, and end-of-life.
- Manages the profitability of the product line through cost reduction programs, growth, pricing, and market analysis.
- Works with the Product Group director to develop the Strategic Planning (STRAP), Mid-Term Operating Plan (MOP), and Risk/Opportunity output for the assigned product lines, present them to Business Unit leadership and deliver results based on the plans.
- Develop and mentor others, and regularly engage with peers in all PG's for evaluation of best practices and to propose continuous improvement efforts as applicable.
- Lead multifunctional integrated program teams, strong interface with external customers, and AM sales.
- Responsible for Excess & Obsolescence (E&O), warranty investigation, customer Request for Quote (RFQ), and Sales Planning for the assigned portfolio.
- Lead new product introductions for aftermarket, change management, and ongoing C&S of the current business.
- Engage regularly with the R&D teams and Product Owners to provide input from the aftermarket perspective, while ensuring robustness of business cases across the assigned portfolio.
- Periodic presentations to executive management on the business status of the aftermarket product portfolio, including key project updates.
- Build strong relationship and influence with customers and sales team to drive profitability and sustainability of product portfolio assigned.
- Manage the product portfolio lifecycle, including new development and end-of-life, by analyzing market trends and defining strategic plans across short, mid and long-term horizons.
- Gaining knowledge on aftermarket dynamics related to Bendix products and distribution in the aftermarket
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Bendix systems: electrical, safety systems, and air brake systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of respective system components and impact on overall vehicle performance.
- Intermediate in the design and/or manufacturing processes used to produce respective system components.
- Demonstrate strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge in authorizing and developing a business case and financial P&L elements.
- Intermediate understanding of the trucking industry - its' customers, manufacturers, associations, and regulatory issues.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of R&D, marketing, and product management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market.
- Experience in Bendix product knowledge preferred.
- Skilled in PO and project management.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business related profession required.
- Master's or MBA preferred.
- Green Belt certification preferred.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Avon, Ohio is $105,400 to $158,200 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year.
