JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title:              Manager, Regional Field Sales – Southwest

Reports To:                 Director, Regional Field Sales & Service - West

Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for leading a regional sales team in representing, promoting, and selling Bendix product lines to fleets and independent aftermarket distributors within an assigned territory. The role encompasses both sales and post-sales activities to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term business growth. In addition, the manager may assume direct account responsibility when appropriate to strengthen key customer relationships and support overall regional objectives.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Develop goals and objectives with Regional Director that are aligned with overall Bendix growth initiatives.
  • This position is responsible for creating, implementing and managing the growth strategy, sales efforts, profitability and direction of all Bendix products in the assigned region and ensuring the team is capable and delivering on the required performance. 
  • Responsible and accountable for fleet sales activity in a defined region; with a keen focus for both spec and aftermarket pull through.
  • Responsible for all dealership activity for both parts and fleet spec that relates to the fleets that fall within the region.  
  • Responsible for all Bendix distributors with key focus on aftermarket parts sales. 
  • Responsible for identifying and managing strategic fleet relationships in the region in order to pull through fleet spec and aftermarket business 
  • Drive the team to achieve key performance objectives within the appropriate timeframe as outlined on personal performance targets and the overall organization’s sales targets.
  • Lead the region in driving sales calls at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer level to promote/sell Bendix product lines.
  • Support promotions with Bendix distributors and dealers to help promote/sell product lines to fleet customer.
  • Introduce new products, programs, and promotions at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer level.
  • Consistently lead the team to call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality & brand equity.
  • Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems.
  • Continually review current distribution and identify areas for growth opportunities.
  • Create business plans with distributor and dealers annually to target specific areas of growth.
  • Manager Premier Distributor Program within the region and drive accountability
  • Provide product sales & technical training at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer level as defined by field sales & service rules of engagement
  • Responsible in driving the team to update all customers reporting requirements in management tool (CRM).

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of heavy truck industry that includes; OE, OES, Fleet, Aftermarket, Distribution, Service and Training
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures
  • Strong technical acumen of the operation, design and application of the complete air brake system 
  • Possesses keen ability to present technical information, value selling and ROI analysis to decision makers
  • Strong working knowledge of computer-based programs. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Experience:

 

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in account management within the heavy vehicle industry; dealing with senior level personnel at an OEM, Aftermarket and fleet customer base on a regular basis required
  • Must have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Proven experience in making successful and professional presentations to senior level personnel
  • Capable of conducting discussions at all levels of the Bendix/Knorr and external customer organizations
  • Previous management of an external sales team a plus.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that facilitate effective discussions
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, or a related field.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Requires 60-70% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events
  • Position located in Southwest region near a major airport
