Position Summary:
This position is a senior-level Key Account Manager role responsible for leading strategic engagement with OEM customers to drive long-term sales growth, profitability, and partnership alignment. The role manages high-value commercial relationships, leads complex RFQ negotiations, and ensures Bendix/Knorr-Bremse global strategies are effectively executed within North America. This position serves as the voice of the customer in strategic discussions, influences business decisions through customer insights, and supports the development of junior account managers to strengthen overall team capability.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and drive regional product and commercial strategies aligned with customer needs and Bendix/Knorr-Bremse business objectives.
- Analyze the competitive landscape and identify opportunities to strengthen market positioning and secure new business.
- Support account teams in identifying, shaping, and securing new business opportunities.
- Translate customer needs, feedback, and market trends into actionable insights for Product Groups and Centers of Competence.
- Influence product definition and development by identifying gaps in current offerings and future customer requirements.
- Collaborate with account teams and Application Engineering to understand model releases, product performance, and competitive positioning.
- Develop value-based selling strategies and customer-specific value propositions.
- Align regional strategies with global OEM direction and identify regions that influence customer decision-making.
- Leverage global best practices and insights to strengthen regional execution and account strategies.
- Build and utilize internal networks across Bendix and Knorr-Bremse to deliver integrated solutions.
- Identify customer challenges and proactively propose solutions that support long-term partnerships and business growth.
- Support strategic planning efforts aligned with company priorities, including profitable growth, financial performance, and customer excellence.
Knowledge:
- Advanced understanding of the commercial vehicle and transportation industry, including OEMs, suppliers, fleets, and distribution channels.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including broken systems and integration with overall vehicle architecture.
- Deep understanding of the Bendix/Knorr-Bremse product portfolio, capabilities, and competitive positioning.
- Knowledge of global OEM strategies, product planning cycles, and decision-making processes.
- Strong understanding of the competitive landscape, including key competitors, strengths, weaknesses, and market trends.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies, value-selling principles, and commercial positioning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM tools, SharePoint, and data analytics tools.

- 10+ years of experience in the commercial vehicle, automotive, or related industries.
- Experience supporting strategic OEM accounts, product strategy, or application engineering activities.
- Experience interacting with OEMs, fleets, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Experience influencing product, commercial, or strategic decisions at a regional or global level
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field required
- MBA preferred
Travel Requirement:
- Requires extensive travel (60%+), both domestic and international, to support customer and business needs.
- Ability to operate effectively across remote, customer, and office-based environments.
- Must reside within reasonable travel distance of a major airport.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work on the West Coast/Remote is $105,400 to $158,200 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements.
