JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title:            Analyst 1-3, Marketing

Reports To:                Director, Marketing & Customer Solutions

Position Summary:

 

As a member of the marketing department, this position is responsible for generating, coordinating, and implementing marketing programs for the assigned product lines by collaborating with cross-functional teams.  Accountable for the marketing launch of new products or features by driving the completion of critical marketing brochures, videos, messaging, presentations, etc.  Will bring market knowledge e.g., developing marketing ideas, running Business Warehouse (BW) reports, market research, creating campaigns or providing properly designed marketing material to the marketing & sales organizations, product lines and other internal customers.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Take ownership of the development and implementation of tactical marketing plans including marketing sales tools, monitor product development and ensure alignment with customers on product launch timelines.
  • Develop product messaging and unique value proposition for all responsible product lines that is aligned with the product teams and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive customer focused activities, including responding to ad hoc inquiries from the field.
  • Drive completion of marketing tools identified on the marketing plan including videos, sell sheets, technical support documents, web sites, operator’s manual, demo presence, trade show displays, targeted marketing, customer presentations and internal presentations.
  • Provide Voice of the Customer (VOC) input to the product groups and drive the “outside in” approach for product development programs and product promotions.
  • Manage marketing projects through developed project management skills such as action item tracking, financial tracking, project planning and contingency planning.
  • Maintain competitive archive and conduct detailed competitive analyses.
  • Support the national sales meeting and other sales and marketing events as needed.
  • Lead new marketing literature and technical documents development efforts.
  • Innovate the marketing function with Bendix. Bring new ideas, new methods for evaluation by the marketing team.
  • Spearhead specific marketing projects as needed.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Advanced knowledge of marketing practices, tools and methodologies including the development of target market messaging.
  • Understanding of sales strategies.
  • Strong working knowledge of database & query software.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle industry including the OE, Fleet and Aftermarket channels, including OES, IAM, OEM class 6,7,8, vehicle manufacturers, trailer manufacturers and main competitors.
  • High level understanding overall vehicle systems including braking (pneumatic and electrical architecture) and the interactions of the braking systems with other portions of the vehicle (i.e. engine, transmission, dash and interface to the operator of the vehicle).

 

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Analyst 1: 3+ years of experience in product marketing, sales, product management or business development required or any relevant internship experience.
  • Analyst 2:  5+ years of experience in product marketing, sales, product management or business development required.  Must have demonstrated experience and success in a marketing role within an organization.   
  • Analyst 3:  5+ years of experience in product marketing, sales, product management or business development required. Must have a demonstrated success in a lead marketing role within an organization.
  • Must have experience in marketing industrial products and technical products.
  • Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle or heavy industrial equipment industry highly preferred.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and shift priorities as necessary.

  • Able to interface directly with customer to build meaningful relationships that further projects. Emphasis on customer satisfaction; makes customer and sales related tasks a priority.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional, proactive manner - highly desired.
  • Proficient in Adobe software, Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of other software packages such as SAP BW4/HANA reporting and SAP reporting.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the organization and establish a collaborative work environment.
  • Utilizes creative/innovative solutions to resolve complex problems/issues.
  • Ability to work with independently with little supervision.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field is required; MBA preferred.

 

Travel and Lifting Requirements:

 

  • Must be capable of traveling approximately 20% of the time to events i.e., demos, trade shows, sales meeting, product shooting events, etc.
  • Must be capable of listing approximately 20-40lbs on an occasional basis.
