JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

 

Position Summary:

 

The FP&A Supervisor is a key member of the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems financial planning and analysis team. This individual optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to management. This individual manages effective internal/external client relationships within own area of responsibility and builds client relationships in the wider group or unit.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to drive accountability for a team of Financial Analysts
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the P&L along with variance analysis vs Budget and Prior Year
  • Lead the assembly of monthly reporting packages and report financials to upper management
  • Review and challenge monthly financial analysis
  • Manage team performance and progress via a monthly scorecard
  • Drive and deploy training & best practices to build team capabilities
  • Perform financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
  • Support ad hoc analysis as needed

 

Knowledge:

  • Excellent working knowledge of standard financial statements
  • Expert knowledge of variance analysis and presentation building
  • Knowledge of data warehouses, data extract tools, report writing applications and other accounting-related software applications
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and IFRS preferred

 

Experience:

 

  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance in public accounting or manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting or manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in project management and/or financial management, including managing budgets, preparing estimates and performing variance analysis
  • ERP experience required, (SAP preferred)

 

Skills:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and work within a team environment
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Possesses strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient Microsoft office products and other software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Planner, and Microsoft Forms preferred but not required
  • Strong systems and data management skills required
  • Able to effectively develop and communicate goals and give updates to all levels of management
  • Expert level of analytical and problem-solving skills that are communicated and passed on to others
  • Pursues training and or experiences for self-development
  • A self-starter who is action and customer oriented and has a strong sense of urgency
  • Capable of performing in a customer-oriented, team-based matrix organization is essential.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field required
  • Accounting preferred
  • Green Belt certification a plus
  • MBA/CPA preferred
