JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

 

Position Summary:

Professional purchasing administrator supporting the North America purchasing organization in a global matrix organization.  Position is responsible to create and maintain accurate supplier data for direct and indirect suppliers, verify bank information, and support the Indirect Purchasing organization in projects.

Essential Functions:

• Creates new vendor profiles for both direct & indirect North America suppliers
• Maintains accurate vendor master information in SAP including maintenance of vendor addresses, contacts, and payment terms for direct and indirect vendors.
• Works closely with accounts payable on updating and maintaining supplier banking information including performing bank verifications with suppliers
• Regularly review vendor master and work with buyers across the organization to eliminate redundant and incorrect vendor data
• Drive vendor creation and maintenance process improvement with key users and SAP technical team
• Performs Master Data Maintenance (MDM) for system upgrades, transformation, and acquisitions
• Perform sanction list checks for all new vendors & changes
• Support Ariba implementation and Indirect Purchasing team on projects
• Works closely with counterparts globally
• Ensure clear work instructions and process documentation is accurate and maintained at all times

Knowledge:

• SAP or other ERP systems knowledge
• Arriba systems knowledge a plus
• Results oriented Self Starter and Pro-active
• Analytical knowledge
 

Experience:

• 2 or more years business experience preferred in purchasing, finance, supply chain, project management, or process management.
• Understanding of SAP is preferred.
• Automotive or transportation environment preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to work across all functions and Bendix locations.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize exceptionally well.
• Ability to multitask, quickly pivot, be process-oriented, with high attention to detail.
• Intercultural sensitivity
• Team player who is willing to help out as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including ability to identify root cause and present corrective actions
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including active listening, identifying the issue, and recommending solutions, often of a customized approach.
• Computer skills including Microsoft office Excel and Power Point
• Self-starter, possessing high degree of self-motivation, creative in nature with the ability to think outside of the box while remaining one step ahead of the problem.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Education:
• Associates degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
