JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

 

Position will provide timely and accurate analytical, planning, reporting, and financial decision support to drive financial performance and achieve business goals and objectives.

 

Essential Functions (Analyst 2):

 

  • Analyze month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close results
  • Prepare, coordinate and review financial forecasts (sales/ margin, departmental and capital budgets)
  • Interface with General Accounting to support various activities related to month/ quarter/ Year-end closing
  • Prepare various monthly presentation packages for management reviews
  • Build strong and effective working relationships within the business teams, and central finance staff
  • Develop expertise in use of Bendix financial systems

 

Essential Functions (Analyst 3):

 

  • Analyze month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close results
  • Conduct variance analyses and research and provide detailed variance explanations between actual results, budget, forecasts and prior period results
  • Prepare financial reporting packages & presentations for leadership
  • Perform significant role in driving, developing and consolidating assigned areas of responsibility within the mid-term operating plan (MOP) process and the periodic financial forecast process                   
  • Provide financial analysis, modeling, and decision support for various business decisions: capital investment, make/buy, sourcing, pricing, etc.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of product costing and pricing principles and methods
  • Working knowledge in cost accounting systems and techniques
  • Knowledge of discounted cash flow valuation of investment projects, capital projects and sourcing
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate financial results in structured, detailed manner; including financial statement preparation, interpretation and inter-relationships                                                     
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize financial planning data from business processes (PDC, PCPT, Strong Focus, misc. and ad-hoc sources) and systems (SAP GL, BPC) as well as from leadership and staff (account managers, buyers, engineers, pricing, etc.)

 

Skills:

 

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
  • Able to effectively communicate goals and give updates to all levels of management
  • Excellent level of analytical and problem solving
  • Pursues training and or experiences for self-development
  • A self-starter who is action and customer oriented and has a strong sense of urgency

 

Experience:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting or manufacturing environment
  • ERP experience preferred (SAP a plus)

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; Accounting preferred
  • MBA/ CPA preferred (Analyst 3)
