JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:  

 

Manage projects throughout all stages of the project process, according to the KB/ local guidelines, for local or regional level. Will be responsible for the interface between Bendix (R&D, Operations) and KBI (Pune operations, Pune R&D). Could manage multiple projects on a local, regional, or international level.

 

Essential Functions:  

 

  • Works with Product Manager and Finance to develop necessary business cases for all projects under the scope of the role.
  • Ensures new product development projects adhere to all PDC requirements & KB/Bendix Project Management guidelines.
  • Drive and direct cross-functional teams and coordinate multi-functional activities to meet milestones and deliver projects on plan.
  • Accurately tracks and manages project timelines & Budgets using KB/Bendix tools. (Teamcenter, MS Project, etc.)
  • Ensure project communication and know how sharing between Avon, Acuna, and Pune.
  • Responsible to ensure that project launches meet cost, quality, and timing commitments. This can include BoM tracking based on actual offers, alignment of OH costs with Bendix controlling, track HK1, and track and maintain BC thru the lifecycle.
  • Accountable for resolution of critical issues during the entire life cycle of the projects.
  • Coordinate productivity idea generation activities to ensure future productivity pipeline fill.
  • Ensure inputs needed for project definition are acquired including harmonization of PN’s to keep the number of variants as les as possible, initial samples for benchmarking, project team definition, and business case preparations and alignments.
  • Establish business cases for new opportunities based on product line and customer strategies.
  • Align with internal sales and end customer regarding relocation scope and time plans.
  • Support product life cycle management strategy and implementation.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and necessary alignment/status meetings to support CoC management system.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and Bendix plants to determine requirements for a successful project implementation.

 

Knowledge:  

 

  • Basic knowledge of business and management processes needed for successful project completion.
  • Working knowledge of planning budgets, and financial analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of project management techniques and best practices.
  • Familiar with industry standards as well as internal Bendix standards. 
  • Knowledge to carry out a process or procedure based on deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable with risk/opportunity factors and can act accordingly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product launch and project management tools including Microsoft Project.
  • Capable of barrier breaking and resolution methods given competing priorities outside of the immediate group.
  • Understanding of major functional and cross-functional business processes and related metrics. (Engineering, Operations, Financial, Marketing, and Sales), specifically as they relate to the product commercialization cycle.
  • Understanding and utilization of business, management and people processes needed for overall success.

 

Experience:  

 

  • Project Manager 2: 2+ years’ experience in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing project management, 2-4 years’ managing smaller projects.
  • Project Manager 3: 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing project management, 2-4 years’ managing smaller projects.
  • Experience in an automotive or transportation environment preferred.
  • External customer relationship experience and know-how required.

 

 

Skills:

 

  • Understanding of functional and cross-functional business processes and related metrics (Engineering, Operations, Financial, Purchasing, Marketing, and Sales).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word etc).
  • Ability to help budget and to consider different budget strategies when involved in making decisions on the project management team.
  • Committed to project cross functional time, task, and resource management.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage conflicts across the organization, along with networking in an effective way.
  • Good at presentation skills including preparation or presentation and the use of different presentation media and techniques.

  • Ability to develop and use early warning indicators and other analytical tools for situation assessment or changing conditions, draw conclusions and make recommendations.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering required; Master’s degree in related profession preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Greenbelt certification preferred.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Estimated 25% travel (customer locations, internationally)
