JOB DESCRIPTION:

The line lead coordinates operators and supports plant departments to meet production targets on highly automated assembly lines by following company standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Executing of operations on various assemblies and products.
  • Coordinates / perform Change Overs according to production orders. Ensure Change Over instructions are followed correctly.
  • Setting-up of pre-belt assemblies, testing and packaging stations according to specifications.
  • Analyze and re process NOK parts in the lines or processes assigned.  
  • Coordinate with HR Trainer to ensure all personnel are trained according to Work Instruction and Procedures (follow up Training Matrix).
    • Line Lead can be able to train operators in case Trainer is not available (extraordinary events).
  • Perform and coordinate Autonomous Maintenance in assigned area / unit equipment along with his team.
  • Support Maintenance Team with minor faults repair. Supports maintenance team with activities properly defined and approved.
  • Coordinates and support major faults repair with multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates material supply /purge (parts availability) on the line according to production orders sequence.
  • Ensure the sequence of production orders is followed as defined and coordinate Finish Good recollection with the logistic department.
  • Responsible of correct productive material handling according to procedures.
    • Correct identification and handling of NOK, suspicious and OK material.
    • Scrap NOK material.
  • Ensure a correct packaging and identification according to packaging instruction and customer specific requirements and regulations.
  • Ensuring order and cleanliness according to 5s standard.
  • Carrying out of general operation auxiliary (permission / vacations management, scrap control, etc.)
  • Responsible of reaching quality, safety, and production KPIs in business unit.
  • Ensuring line operators are following Work Instructions and securing the processes of the assembly line(s) are carried out correctly.
    • Assembly according to existing parts lists, drawings, and routings.
  • Assisting in all error, fault, and overhead cost evaluations as well as delivery performance.
  • Coordinating of disturbance sequences (error notification).
  • Responsible for receiving and introduce engineering changes to assigned lines / unit.
  • Support in the design of workplaces and work environment from an ergonomic point of view.
  • Support lean activities related to the assigned lines or processes.
  • Assign their workstation to production operators.
  • Compliance with ESD, environmental and safety regulations in accordance with internal and external regulations.
  • Responsibility for delivery performance in the shift (contact person for superiors).
  • Daily shop floor discipline and teamwork with Quality, Operations, Maintenance and other departments or areas (multidisciplinary team).
  • The employee has the authority to stop the production line, when he/she notices that the product has a quality problem or defect.
  • Ensuring and complying with environmental and safety regulations in accordance with internal procedures and regulations.
  • Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members.
  • Support/execute any other activity required by the company.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Operators report to this position.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of assembly processes, soldering, testing, press-fit, gluing, and screwing activities.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures (PM, AM).
  • Knowledge of MS Office Package. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 Experience:

  • At least 3 years of assembly experience, desirable on automated lines.
  • Desirable People Management skills.
  • Desirable Maintenance experience.

Skills:

  • Proficiency of complicated measurement methods.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Soldering (preferred)
  • Training based on SOS and Rework SOS.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish (preferred)

Education/Certifications:

  • Technical degree in mechatronics, electromechanical, electronic, etc.
  • Certification on Measurement Tools (preferred)
