JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for design, development, application, testing, and release of next generation Driver Assistance products and features for commercial vehicles.

Essential Functions:
• Develop system requirements definitions, cross-product communication interfaces, product testing, develop system applications and release.
• Application of ADAS functions, systems, components and mounting hardware.
• Based on internal and customer requirements pursue new driver assistance product opportunities.
• Develop and execute technical validation plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate system release and product applications performance.
• Component DVP&R development and testing execution according to Bendix and customer requirements.
• Understanding and refining requirements for new driver assistance product opportunities.
• Release of products and documentation pertaining to Wingman Fusion and other ADAS offerings at customers compliant with the Global Change Management process using TeamCenter PLM and PTC Integrity (V-model development, requirements traceability).
• Interface with corporate, customer, software developers, systems engineers, design engineers and management to communicate status of projects.
• Author technical documentation for driver assistance products, including: test reports and customer-facing specifications for installation, calibration, and service of these systems.
• Support DAS team(s) in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
• Benchmark competitive systems.
• Willing to travel (test track, customer locations, winter test) as required (minimum expected).
Knowledge:
• Broad automotive and electronic systems knowledge, preferably related to heavy truck.
• Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols including J1939, UDS, and CCP.
• Technical knowledge of Driver Assistance components and impact on overall vehicle performance.
• Experience with CANalyzer.
• Familiar with CANape, CANoe, Matlab, Simulink, Trucksim and Phyton is a plus.
• Skills with data acquisition systems for vehicle and environmental testing.
• Knowledge and experience with product quality tools such as system FMEA, DVP&R, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 - Functional Safety Concepts.
• In-depth knowledge of air brake systems is a plus.
Experience (Engineer 1):
• 0-2 years of experience
Experience (Engineer 2):
• Desired 3+ years of experience preferably in driver assistance, vehicle dynamics, or vehicles controls engineering.
• Hands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.
• Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.
• Automotive product design experience.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment.

Experience (Engineer 3):
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience preferably in driver assistance, vehicle dynamics, or vehicles controls engineering.
• Hands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.
• Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.
• Strong product design experience.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment.

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering required.

Travel:
Willing to travel (minimum expected).
