Position Title: Director, HR Acuna and Mexico Country Lead
Reports To: VP, HR Americas
Matrix Manager: Director, HR Operations CVS
Legal Manager: Managing Director, Acuna Operations

Position Summary:
Partner, collaborate and influence business, divisional and operational leaders in Mexico to anticipate, identify and problem-solve the effect of talent factors on short/long -range business planning. Effectively partner with other areas of HR in developing, providing input on HR programs, processes, systems impacting talent in the organization. Promote strategic thinking that drives organizational effectiveness and profitable growth by having a high business acumen (i.e., understand industry trends, company financials/KPIs, customers, competitors, etc.). Also responsible for the HR function of the Acuna operational plants of Commercial Vehicle Systems. Eight direct reports and three plant locations in Acuna with ~1800 employees. Indirect oversight from compliance and labor concerns for Mexico City, Monterrey and rail location in Acuna. Position is on-site in Acuna, Mexico.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute a people strategy in collaboration with leaders focused on improving competitive position, customer satisfaction, workforce optimization, employee satisfaction, involvement and contribution within the local Acuna plants and the country.
- Champion HR process improvements for the client base, in the areas of organizational structure, employee satisfaction, staffing, and total reward systems for country in partnership with regional Centers of Excellence and Shared Services.
- Anticipate human resource issues and problems, and prepare alternatives and contingency plans consistent with change management principles
- Participate in the HRLT, identifying and prioritizing strategic interventions, allocating resources and managing the project pipeline and measuring HR success
- Coach, challenge and advise leaders on business and talent matters.
- Act as a confidante to management and employees on all matters of business including performance management, workforce effectiveness, people development, employee relations themes, etc.
- Partner with central functions to ensure human resource effectiveness through the management of key products/services such as human resources delivery systems, budget, compliance (legal, ISO 9000) and employee total rewards.
- Develop the local HR team to deliver on the HR and business strategy.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of how strategies and tactics work and affect an organization
- Knowledge of applicable country(s) and local laws, regulations and compliance requirements in the areas of employment and labor law
- Comprehensive understanding of Labor regulations and requirements in Mexico.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years progressive human resource experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience in compensation/benefit management in Mexico
- Experience in labor relations, contract preparation and negotiations
- Demonstrated experience in organization development/design
- Demonstrated experience in positive employee relations processes/programs
- Experience in managing people in positive and developmental way
Multi-site experience. - Experience working in a matrix organization with proven ability to lead change initiatives and demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at all levels within and across the organization.

- Strong HR background in change leadership business related HR solutions, which add value to the business and achieve measurable results on time and within budget
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Organizational Development or other business fields required
- Master's degree preferred
Position Requirements:
10-15% travel required between Acuna and Monterrey
Ability to travel to US and Europe, occasionally
